What would the art world look like if Hitler had won?

Disney reported earnings yesterday. The company is struggling mightily under this pandemic with shut downs that have closed the theme parks and no sports being on their ESPN cable TV cash cow. Cable cord-cutting was a problem even before the lack of sports content. But none of that was surprising.

What was more interesting to me is that their gamble on media content, designed to compete with Netflix, has been a failure. The former CEO Bob Iger, who mysteriously suddenly resigned probably because of all of these troubles that are now making news, paid $71 Billion for 21st Century Fox. But their online streaming effort, Disney+, designed to compete with Netflix is not growing subscribers. It has been a big bust.

What Iger and his herd-mentality studio executives living in the media bubble did not factor in is this. One can’t sell content if the content sucks.

For the last five years or so, even before Ronan Farrow finally exposed the Harvey Weinstein scandals, creating the #MeToo movement in 2017, the garbage coming out of Hollywood has been unwatchable. First, it was just censored for sexual-harassment reasons. The male heads of the studios were all guilty, their peers were falling like flies, so they capitulated to the terrorists.

Smelling the blood in the water, the Marxists driving the far-left revolution then pressured studios to go woke and pump out pure political propaganda. Every genre is laden with political agendas. Even Disney kid-flicks cannot escape the messaging.

I am not alone in having zero interest in anything Netflix has to offer these days, with a few exceptions. Once a year, there are a handful of movies that I watch and then cancel my Netflix subscription. I am sure as heck not going to subscribe to Disney’s streaming service just to get more comic book movies.

Content is king and these mega-media companies are desperate for it. The media globalists have to stop ruining the screenplays sent to them and put an end to on-set “diversity” cops. However, it might be too late.

Hollywood thought that they could endure a few years of pain if it meant that they survived in the long-run. However, by negotiating with the terrorists, they have lost all control, possibly never to regain it.

The cable-TV cash cow is almost dead. Few go to movie theaters, and the content is so bad that people will not even pay for in-home streaming content. Can the industry be revived?

If the far-left somehow takes over The White House, what would become of the private-sector film industry given that it could no longer make a profit? It would likely become one big NPR, subsidized by your tax dollars. In effect, they would force you to watch and make you pay for it.

The weak cowards on the Hollywood left failed to defend their gates against the barbarians. Instead, they fed them and they took over.

We now have the art culture that dystopian science fiction writers have imagined for decades after the Bolshevik Revolution, rise of communism, and then the Cold War (e.g. Brave New World, Nineteen Eight-Four, and Fahrenheit 451). The creatives are micromanaged by Big Brother censors. Anything offensive is destroyed. Statues are torn down. Books are burned.

Hitler was a fan of films and knew their power to influence people. His Nazis had infiltrated Hollywood in the 1930’s before they were viewed as evil people. What would the art world look like if Hitler had won World War 2? We are witnessing it today.

All we watch are English Irish and Scottish shows. For the supposed wokeness of Hollywood, after 35, basically an actress is over (rare exceptions for a few superstars)

These other countries are the only ones that use older woman 40-90 yrs in substantial roles.

Foyles War – detective pre/post ww2 (my kids have learned more history than in nyc public schools). It also shows real antisemitism of those times and how language of the 30s led to consequences in the 40s. Wow. Anyone voting for the Squad could learn a few lessons here as well as USA Jews voting for them and Biden.

    Midsomer Murders – 15 seasons!

    Vera 9 seasons

    Agatha Raisin

CB Strike – Iraq war veteran son of rockstar missing leg now detective

    Hercules Poirot

I could go on and on
