BatteryPark.TV exclusively obtained the actual SLA liquor license applications by the Poulakakos/Dermot group for Pier A. One fact that stands out is the maximum occupancy of 1,175 people. To put that in perspective, the biggest nightclub in Las Vegas is Marquee. It only has a maximum capacity of 1,000.
Pier A will indeed be the biggest nightclub in the city. With three floor, at least five bars, live music, and an outdoor beer garden, it will dwarf anything else.
Meanwhile, PS 276 is approximately 500-feet away, the Jewish Museum 300-feet away, and the Ritz-Carlton is 150-feet away from the Pier A nightclub and beer garden. The liquor license application wants to be open nearly 24/7, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 AM, with live outdoor music.
The SLA will hold a public hearing to hear opposition to these liquor licenses on April 24th at 11:00 AM. The location will be 317 Lenox Avenue, 4th floor. The public is encouraged to attend.
