BatteryPark.TV previously posted an essay critical of the lack of leadership within the Asphalt Green community centers. The Executive Director, Carol Tweedy, was silent throughout the two-year struggle to open the Battery Park City Asphalt Green, silent again throughout the recent attempt by Bob Townley’s Manhattan Youth to take control of the Stuyvesant Community center, and the Upper East Side Asphalt Green just lost a major battle with the city over a new trash dump that was installed in the middle of their grounds.
