Parks in disrepairAugust 12, 2013

Dear Ms. Fenton, and Mr. Monahan:

Since my common charges are no longer being used to maintain the common areas of Battery Park City, I was wondering if there will be a credit passed along to the unit owners?

I have lived in Battery Park City since 1988 and have always been proud of my neighborhood and the entity called BPCA. I always thought that the BPCA was responsive  to the community’s needs, but this is no longer the case.

Our neighborhood looks worn, dirty, unkempt and depressing, as you can see in the photos.  If the new BPCA is no longer spending our money on our neighborhood then I suggest sending refund checks to each and every unit owner and tenant.

Thank you.

    Hi Helene,

I agree with your comment. My common charges are going up and I don’t see improvement in the maintenance of the park that where once kept immaculate. This is one of the reasons I moved to BPC 8 years ago.

If Mr. Monahan and Ms. Fenton did not reply, that is because they are both under investigation by a state ethics agency
