August 6, 2013- The NYPD put on its citywide “Night Out” meant to get the community involved and raise awareness of crime prevention. The First Precinct, led by Captain Timoney, made a good effort, but few in the community turned out. The reason is that the first week in August is peak vacation season. BatteryPark.TV suggests changing the date to Mid-July or late June.
