I tried Ted’s Montana Grill despite the trepidation over bison meet. This is Ted Turner’s restaurant chain based on his actual herd of bison. He is supposedly the largest landowner by acreage in the country.

This is a well-run establishment, with good décor, hospitality, and a mostly made-from-scratch kitchen operation. There are plenty of regular beef items to choose from if bison scares you.

I got the breaded cod sandwich, to be safe, but will go back for the bison burger.

For dessert, I had the best chocolate malt shake in my life. It has just the right amount of unblended ice cream lumps with chips of chewy malt flakes.
