Four years ago, BP.TV worked to help stop the plans by the numbskulls of Brookfield Properties to demolish the marble staircase in The Winter Garden. Not only was it just a dumb plan, but the stairs had become sacred to many people who used them during the 9/11 attack on the WTC towers as a place of safety.
Now, 14-years later, Brookfield Place is open, the stairs are still there, and all of the proponents of keeping them have been vindicated. The stairs are the center attraction of the entire Brookfield Place mall. People are naturally gravitating to them and sitting, taking in the sights.
