Right after the two police officers were assassinated, I sent the email below to the state and city elected officials. Today, it was announced that a bill was introduced in City Hall to install bulletproof glass in squad cars.

Subject: Cops need better cars and vests
Why aren’t cop cars equipped with glass that is resistant to handgun rounds? The military gives the surplus tanks, but this is what they really need.
They need better body vests too. They wear little things that expose the side armpits to vital arteries.
