The walk-in ER at 200 Chambers is now back open. This is the same building of the flooded Downtown Community Center and residential complex, right across from Whole Foods.

The Asphalt Green center on North End Avenue was flooded by the storm. The basketball court is being removed now as a mold precaution. The treadmills and pool area are undamaged. A construction manager said, “It is not turn-key any longer, but the delay in opening will not be significant.”
Across the street, the Downtown Community Center run by Manhattan Youth was flooded and the basement was being pumped.
In the same building, the Palm restaurant was destroyed.
Around the corner in the same building, the Urgent Care Center was closed but not damaged.
Truly appreciated the accurate and objective storm reporting
before, during, and after hurricane Sandy. As a BPC residents for 15+ years,
this is the first time that BPC became the place people from other areas of Manhattan are getting help.
