I have commented on this creepy, excessively long, hairstyle worn by certain mentally ill women like Kristi Noem and Megyn Kelly. Yesterday, cross-eyed-crazy Kelly Loeffler was on TV with too-long hair. I then saw this video, above. I did not realize it was a Gen X thing. Now, it all makes sense. The epidemic of self-mutilated faces from Botox and fillers is a GenX thing as well.
There’s this phenomenon among my generation where many of us are trying to never outgrow teen immaturity. Men do this too in other ways. These freakazoids on SSRIs and OxyContin think they can still pound beers in Camaros on Friday nights.
I am a true weirdo in that I have never liked my generation. I always looked up to the older generations for music and classic rock. I did not like my era of Guns N’ Roses, Heavy Metal, or pop culture music like Michael Jackson.
I did not like Top Gun or Back to the Future movies either. I have only recently begun to watch these movies because I realize that they were important to the time and I had missed out. No. I was not wrong. It was all crap.
I hated everything about my generation. I was right.
Now, I am looking at these old fucks, my peers, and I still cannot stand many of them. I get flashbacks from high school. These are the assholes who drive tall pickup trucks and engage in road rage. They are the ones who drive wake boats and disturb the peace on lakes. These are the dipshits who still think drinking alcohol to excess in public is cool.
It is not all bad with my generation. The good people of Gen X are the demographic that saved the world in the last election. We still appreciate freedom and have that rebellious side. But I sure do wish that my peers were not so heavily populated with ignorant wannabe heavy metal rockers.
