SpaceX IPO
The details, or the S1, of the SpaceX IPO are out. I was confused because I thought it was supposed to be worth $1 trillion. The news blurbs mention only $80 billion (which is still a lot, because just a few decades ago, entire companies like JNJ were worth around that). I don’t think the Press understands an IPO.
Yes, they will issue new shares that are only worth $80 billion. But that’s not how I view it. I did this for a living.
This isn’t an additional offering. This is an IPO, or an initial public offering. That means all of those shares worth $1 trillion are completely worthless until the company goes public. They are actually “raising” $1 trillion. They’re not raising $80 billion.
SpaceX had a whole list of investors owning shares from PE rounds. But those are meaningless shares until they go public. The value to those shareholders went from zero to a lot of money.
So, in conclusion, I am making little of $80 billion. However, that’s far more than the market cap of large cap companies back in the day when I was doing this crap. That’s a lot of money. But the total market cap of $1 trillion is incomprehensible.
What does this mean? This means that stock valuations are meaningless. SpaceX isn’t worth $1 trillion. There is a complete disconnect between market prices in real evaluation. It’s worse than the Dutch tulip market bubble. At least tulips were tangible and real. AI is a complete lie.
There’s going be a market implosion that will destroy the entire world’s economy. We’re sitting on a time bomb.
Religious zealots are currently hoping for the end of days. Well, they’re about ready to get it.
Oh, by the way, as a little footnote, it looks like Elon Musk is now a full-fledged drug addict. He’s behaving in ways that indicate he has tardive dyskinesia, which is caused by either crystal meth or GHB. This guy is fucked up.
