In the news is something that hits home for me. A land fill was full of thousands of chickens that were euthanized, or culled, but some were alive. It was inhumane. Once again, authorities are ordering the mass killing of chickens across the United States, claiming a dangerous virus is spreading uncontrollably.
The virus in question is highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1, or commonly known as bird flu. Farms will test positive by state health departments, and then entire flocks are culled, often hundreds of thousands or millions of birds at a time. The carcasses sometimes end up in landfills, as seen in recent Ohio reports.
These state bureaucrats confirm these outbreaks with PCR testing (polymerase chain reaction, specifically real-time RT-PCR for RNA viruses). However, PCR is notoriously unreliable when misused. As we saw during the COVID-19 pandemic, if they run the cycle threshold (Ct) high enough, at 40 cycles, they can get a positive result from almost anything, like a can of Coke (literally). Many COVID diagnoses were erroneous or overstated due to these inflated settings and lack of clinical context. The same flawed methodology appears to drive bird flu culling decisions.
This pattern reveals deep incompetence among the communist bureaucrats running health and agriculture departments. We witnessed their botched handling of COVID contradictory lockdowns, mask flip-flops, suppressed early treatments, and economic devastation all justified by questionable testing and modeling.
Now, they are repeating the playbook with poultry. These un-elected officials wield enormous power to destroy livelihoods with a single positive test, yet they rarely face accountability.
Even more suspicious is the timing. Culling operations ramped up in late 2024 under communist-controlled Biden, right before President Trump took office. Egg prices skyrocketed as a result, hitting American families hard.
Was this just coincidence, or part of a deliberate effort to create shortages and instability? It fits a larger pattern that looks like a communist-style revolution aimed at controlling the food supply and starving out resistance.
Look at what happened in Canada: Authorities ordered the mass culling of ostriches and other birds with little justification, sparking outrage over unnecessary destruction and heavy-handed tactics. They are doing the same here killing productive animals en masse while ordinary people struggle with higher grocery bills.
Making matters worse, there is virtually no robust evidence that mass culling actually prevents or stops outbreaks in the long term. It is mostly theory and modeling rather than proven success. Despite culling over 100 million birds in recent years, H5N1 has spread to all 50 states, become endemic in wild birds, and spilled over into dairy cattle. Studies and real-world data show stamping-out works in small, isolated cases with perfect biosecurity, but against a virus already widespread in nature, its failed to contain the problem.
This is an abuse of power. State health departments have become a favorite tool of the communist to spread terror and cause starvation.
State and federal health authorities must have their powers to order animal herd culling curtailed. Bureaucrats should not have unchecked authority to wipe out entire flocks based on a test with known flaws.
