After speaking at the Port St. Lucie City Council meeting on September 28, a local independent media outlet covered the event, and the story went viral. More than 500,000 people viewed it. Among the more than 1,700 comments, many asked how they could help.
It never actually occurred to me that I could seek crowdfunding for this. Even though I am handling this litigation pro se, it is still very costly. Taking this to trial will require expert witnesses, deposition costs, and traveling to the court. The court down here is a unique by not granting pro se PACE e-filing rights. So, I have to drive everything over in person, which is 60-miles.
I estimate that the out of pocket expenses, to see this through trial and appeal, will be well over $20,000. However, my hundreds of hours of time takes away form my revenue earning too.
It sure would be nice to get some donations to help offset these expenses. To make that possible, I have set up a GoFundMe account.
