I often tell people how healthy it is to observe animals in the wild. It is part of my Quality of Life Clinic approach. A healthy life isn’t just about the body. The brain controls the body. If you have a bad outlook on life, it will trigger hormones, and that creates toxic substances in the bloodstream worse than diabetes.
As I normally do, I was observing ducks eat their food this morning. They always interact with one another by pecking and doing funny things. That’s why they came up with the term “pecking order.”
However, this behavior funny and harmless. It makes me laugh. There’s nothing evil or devious about it.
That made me realize the difference between humans and animals. Animals are not stupid. They have emotions and behavior. They are creatures with a soul. But what they seem to lack are the toxic traits of humans.
Animals don’t needlessly destroy things out of greed. Animals don’t kill others for no reason or wage war.
Humans suffer from greed where they will destroy land, forests, and everything precious around them in the irrational pursuit of money. It’s this consciousness that we have developed.
Very few people are content with having what they need. They always want more than what they need. Animals don’t do that. They are at peace and harmony with nature, and they only consume what they need.
The deadly trait of humans that’s going to kill the species is the desire to have “more and more and more”. That’s a lyric by Roger Waters.
What shall we use to fill the empty spaces
Where waves of hunger roar?
Shall we set out across the sea of faces
In search of more and more applause?
Shall we buy a new guitar?
Shall we drive a more powerful car?
Shall we work straight through the night?
Shall we get into fights?
Leave the lights on?
Drop bombs?
Do tours of the east?
contract diseases?
Bury bones?
Break up homes?
Send flowers by phone?
Take to drink?
Go to shrinks?
Give up meat?
Rarely sleep?
Keep people as pets?
Train dogs?
Race rats?
Fill the attic with cash?
Bury treasure?
Store up leisure?
But never relax at all
With our backs to the wall
