December 5, 2013- Josephine, the restaurant in the rent-controlled building on Harrison and Greenwich Streets, has been shut down by the DOH, according to a local real estate blog. The post stated, “The back story, best as I can tell: A disgruntled former employee alleged to a customer that one of the owners was knowingly serving food that had been touched by rats, and a rat-loathing resident of IPN took up the cause, reaching out to Community Board 1, which in turn contacted the Department of Health.”.
However, Lucy at the CB1 office strongly denied that story. She stated, “We had nothing to do with it.”. Which makes one wonder whether the real estate blog bothered to call the CB1?
The recent inspection record can be found here. There were no serious violations and they got a letter grade of a B, which means they did not pay the city enough in fines to get an A.
