BatteryPark.TV exclusively reported that the operators of the new Pier A restaurant were granted by the CB1 a rare 4:00 AM liquor license in a residential community. Attending the CB1 meeting on March 4th were reporters from all of the local sources. One week later, not a single source has reported on the meeting.
This is not an accidental oversight. The local papers are highly dependent on the advertising handouts that will come from the Poulakakos group running Pier A, as well as the BPCA which helped orchestrate the liquor license approval.
Omission of reporting is the most commonly used tool of propaganda amongst local throw-aways. The next time you see an unsightly free newsrack cluttering your street, and someone defends them by saying they serve a vital role for the community and deserve protection from the First Amendment, think otherwise. Advertising and propaganda are not “free speech”.
Only BatteryPark.TV reports the truth. “We inform”.
Outrageous bias by omission in The Broadsheet
The BS: Two weeks late and still full of typos
The Broadsheet still spinning for the BPCA hand that feeds it
Letter: Why are Downtown Express newsracks polluting North BPC?
A growing cry to remove free newsracks
CB7 passes resolution to remove newsracks
This is going to be so amazingly awful. I can just see the hordes of loud drunks careening up the esplanade at 4 AM. It’s such a lovely location. What a disaster. People will look back fondly on helicopters and boat horns after this thing opens.
