March 20, 2014- Crain’s reports, “The Hudson River Park Trust and community groups are set to meet with the City Planning Commission next week to discuss the mechanics of selling air rights to fund repairs at the 5 mile-long green space. Discussions had been put on hold until the recent appointment of City Planning Commission Chair Carl Weisbrod.
The trust was authorized to sell air rights through the Hudson River Park Act, signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo late last year.
“We got off to a slow start due to the change in administration, but we are now moving ahead and beginning what will be a very lengthy process,” a spokesperson for the trust said.”
