Update January 6, 2017- The tower will be 15-floors lower, but wider in footprint, according to new plans released by Rafael Vinoly.

Its good to see development in this neighborhood. I have two reactions though to the size of this very tall, narrow tower.
1. We already need a proper grocery store. With towers of this size (plus the others which are underway) I would hope to also see a large grocery store locate itself in areas such as the old American Exchange on Greenwich Street
2. A tall skinny tower seems ripe for another terrorist attack except this time it would topple over. There simply is not enough central core to withstand such an attack
This is so gross and disrespectful it is hard to believe that it might be allowed.
It is bad enough that such a huge building is going upmarket behind the Woolworth building.
Also gross and disrespectful.
It is a shame that the city lets these things happen.
