I was walking through Le District when I saw in the kitchen window of Beaubourg (the brasserie) some fine looking cheeseburgers. I never considered eating there for lunch, thinking it was too upscale.
The cheeseburger was quite good. The beef is of the right mixture and not too rich (unlike the gut-busting short rib burger at North End Grill). The bun is made in the bakery on-site, and the frites were tasty.
At $18, this is pricier than the El Vez cheeseburger, but on par with North End Grill. I suggested to them adding more entrees under $20.
One can also sit in the large outdoor area now, which is very pleasant on days like today.
The service is not quite as good as North End Grill, but I think the chef and menu are better. Overall, Beaubourg is shaping up to be better than North End Grill.
The service is horrible.
I agree about the service and that is why I cannot endorse this restaurant just yet. However, I know the chef, and he seems to have potential.
