I swore off North End Grill, for the second time, a year ago. Under Chef Floyd Cardoz, I stopped going after a bad Thanksgiving dinner. Under Chef Eric Korsh, the menu was way too pretentious, and the management was starting to get bad too.
Consistent with my personal opinion of the place, others seemed to agree. I was noticing that the dining room was half empty on most occasions, even at peak dining hours, whenever I walked by.
Then, they underwent a total change of staff in the kitchen, servers, and management when Danny Meyer announced that he was eliminating tips. Now, for whatever reason, the dining room is full again.
This morning, it was full for brunch. Friday evening, it was also full.
The menu might have been tweaked. Also, the new Brookfield Place and WTC Museum traffic might be the reason. Or maybe it is just the all-new staff. Who knows.
Have any of you been there lately?
