February 20, 2024- by Steven Greer
Small birds are rare down here. I have only a single warbler and a bunch of crackles. So, when I saw this new loner bird, I took interest. It is a Loggerhead Shrike.
I had never heard of such a birds. It turns out that it is an endangered species in some states. “Reports of Loggerhead Shrikes in Pennsylvania are few and far between. That is why it is considered a state Endangered species.”
April 12, 2024-August 7, 2024- It has been many months since I saw a shrike. There might be two of them now. I think I saw a pair. They might also be juveniles hatched this year.
