Update May 26, 2016- The connection from the Oculus PATH station to the Fulton Street subway station is now open. So, one can now walk almost all the way across Lower Manhattan under the cover of the underground pathways. Starting at the Hudson River, one goes down the West Side Highway tunnel in Brookfield, then to the PATH and Oculus, then to Fulton.
March 9, 2016- We follow up on the Oculus, first touring it last year.
I guess you can’t go all the way east without paying a subway fare…
The subway passages for pedestrians extend pretty far East of Fulton
