If you have seen some really tall dudes at Shake Shack or the Conrad Hotel, they are NBA players. The New York Nicks and Nets have an arrangement for the visiting teams to stay at the Conrad and practice at the next door Asphalt Green gym.
Since BP.TV led the revolt against the old BPCA administration which was stalling the opening of Asphalt Green, we say somewhat facetiously that we brought the NBA to Battery Park City. The fact that the Knick’s star Amar’e Stoudemire lives in BPC did not hurt, either.
