The New York Post is now reporting that the sanitation department bosses were not only shirking their duties after the blizzard, but bought beer and got drunk in their cars and trucks.
December 31, 2010
After the blizzard of December, 2010, the New York Post reported that the poor sanitation department street plowing was due to an intentional union snow down in protest over pay and benefits cuts. They caught one operator actually sleeping.
On December 31, we filmed this plow operator sitting idle talking with another idle Sanitation Department employee smoking a cigarette. They were at the corner of Liberty and South End Avenue.
