CB1’s Mark Costello opposes Asphalt Green because it was made by prior Republicans

Mark Costello, CB1 member, is the “Father of the Ball Fields” in Battery Park and has also managed the Little League. He has been involved in the secret negotiations with the BPCA trying to have a MOU signed that would restrict the managers of Asphalt Green and prevent any competition to Bob Townley’s Manhattan Youth community center. That MOU was never signed, but they held a rally in one last ditch effort to sway the BPCA.

Mark Costello was present at the October 18th anti-Asphalt Green rally and publicly denies that he is opposed to Asphalt Green. However
