The anti-Asphalt Green rally that was covered so extensively on the local press occurred tonight, but the protestors were not allowed to use the ball fields or terrace of Asphalt Green. Members of the community had called the BPCA offices to complain that children on the fields would be used as political props. The event instead took place on the sidewalk at the northwest corner of the ball fields on Warren and West Street, with the noise of buses often drowning out the speakers.

Perhaps the most notable observation of the rally was who was not present to show support. Not a single elected official, such as Daniel Squadron or Sheldon silver, were seen. No leader of CB1 was present.
