May 27, 2013- On Memorial Day, the Citi Bike Share program kicked off with strong demand for the bikes. Even though the day and week passes were not yet for sale, plenty of bikes were taken out and used via the full-year passes. However, the program directors miffed thousands of wannabe riders who did not understand why their cards would not work for the day or week passes, which are not available until next week.
