March 19, 2015- Don’t do drugs, folks. The Post reports, “The data showed that overdoses among Staten Islanders soared 341 percent between 2000 and 2013.”.
What the article failed to explain is why. The OD’s are not from the cocaine, but rather from opioid additives mixed in. The Mexican cartels and local pushers are cutting in drugs of the same class as heroin and morphine into the white powder. This slows breathing and heart rate, killing the user. Of course, the user expects high heart rates from the coke, and just snorts more when they feel down from the first lines.
Dissatisfying and even killing the customer would seem to be a bad business model. But these genuises do it anyway.
