Ever wonder how atrocious performances by Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, or Meryl Streep won Oscars?

Update December 14, 2018- File this under “Ewwww” It is being reported that Harvey Weinstein slept with Jennifer Lawrence. Whether this is true or not (and we think it is), she was certainly a close friend of the creep, at a time when everyone knew what he was doing (#SheKnew).  This is why she won Oscars, we argue below.

It is the beginning of the Hollywood award show season where meritless popularity-contest-awards are given to performances in movies that usually have bombed at the box office (Because the elites in Hollywood know better than you ticket-buying peasants). In a cringe-provoking performance, Meryl Streep is attempting to escape the Harvey Weinstein #SheKnew scandal by going on a public relations tour, giving puff piece interviews to Hollywood. Her film “The Post” is up for awards.

CBS reported, “After fending off accusations that she knew Harvey Weinstein allegedly harassed and assaulted women, Meryl Streep is trying to shift the conversation. Instead, the actress wants to shine the spotlight on Melania and Ivanka Trump.

In an interview with the New York Times, the Oscar winner was asked about the #MeToo movement and why she didn’t speak out more forcefully at the outset. She replied, “I don’t want to hear about the silence of me. I want to hear about the silence of Melania Trump. I want to hear from her. She has so much that’s valuable to say. And so does Ivanka. I want her to speak now.”

Have you ever sat back and wondered how Meryl Street gets nominated for an Oscar almost every year? She was nominated for her roles in “August: Osage County”, “Into the Woods”, and actually won for “The Iron Lady” Did you see any of these? If not, are you too stupid to appreciate fine art? Or rather, is the Academy Awards show rigged by Hollywood mafia?

Likewise, did public drunk 23-year-old Jennifer Lawrence deserve to win Best Actress for “Silver Linings Playbook” in 2013, or be nominated for “Joy”, “American Hustle”, or “Winter’s Bone”?

Perhaps the most undeserving joke of an Oscar was awarded to bug-eyed Anne Hathaway for her atrocious musical performance in “Les Misérables” in 2012. Everyone laughed at that one.

What did all of these dubious Academy Awards and nominations have in common? They were all produced by Hollywood Mafia Don Harvey Weinstein. Vanity Fair recently detailed how Weinstein invented the big-budget Oscar campaign.

“For a company that made its name on the transgressive Pulp Fiction, Miramax traded primarily in sentimentality at the Oscars, often coupled with a feel-good liberal message that gave their films an extra gloss of Importance. (The Weinstein Company later perfected this play. Its most recent example: ads for the Alan Turing biopic The Imitation Game that exhorted voters to “Honor the Film. Honor the Man.”) As the Academy got more daring with its choices in recent years, Weinstein struggled to keep pace. His back-to-back best-picture wins at the beginning of the decade, for The King’s Speech and The Artist, were straight from the classic Weinstein template, shameless if well-crafted throwbacks that satisfied a voting body always eager to indulge its nostalgic streak. Lion, from 2016, likely the Weinstein Company’s final best-picture nominee, was a direct successor to those films; it went home empty-handed.”

This is how Harvey Weinstein could lure attractive actresses back to his hotel rooms. Everyone knew that he could make an actress an award nominee. If he did it for Anne Hathaway, then his super powers must be pretty special.
