Fisherman on esplanade by West Thames 2March 5, 2014- Many people have speculated that the army of fisherman on the esplanade of BPC, each with multiple rods cast into the Hudson, are actually professional fisherman selling their catch to Chinatown restaurants. That is why this story in The Post today is interesting.

It states, “The city’s Health Department warned Wednesday that workers and customers who handle live or raw fish or seafood from Chinatown markets in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan could be exposed to a bacteria that causes swelling and bumps on their hands and arms. But the fish is safe to eat, officials said.”
