January 27, 2014- I was walking into the WFC when I heard a woman at the bus stop say “Officer, officer, these cars are blocking the bus stop. I have to go into the middle of the street to get the bus?”.
In the photo, behind the police car is a line of town cars blocking the entire lane of Vesey all the way to North End Ave (click on photo to expand). They are also parked right in the bus stop, and the police car is watching it all.
The problems persist.
A dispatcher, wearing a bright orange vest, is positioned just past the bus stop. His job is to guide vehicles. He guides them right into the bus stop.
The police precinct has been told about this, but needs to hear from everyone who is impacted (especially the elderly and the disabled).
I also suggest contacting the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, an appropriate place for ADEA complaints, Councilwoman Chin, the Mayor’s Office and the Public Advocate’s Office.
To Mr. Feldman
Thank you for writing. That “dispatcher” is bogus and not an official dispatcher. The town cars pay him to look like the old Merrill Lynch line person. He is not authorized to do that.
