Local resident of BPC, A-list actor Leonardo DiCaprio, is retiring from acting. The NY Post article also has a comment from him referencing his green BPC apartment.

From the NY Post, “Leonardo DiCaprio…has announced he’s retiring from acting indefinitely. “I’m a little bit drained,” he told the German newspaper Bild. “I am now going to take a long, long break.” After doing three films — “Django Unchained,” “The Great Gatsby” and the recently finished “The Wolf of Wall Street (filmed in Downtown)”. “I would like to improve the world a bit,” he said. “I will fly around the world doing good for the environment.” In the meantime, he’s living green at home. “My roof is covered with solar panels,” he said. “My car is electric. A normal person does not drive more than [30 miles] a day. That can be done with a plug.””

I say Bravo to Leonardo DiCaprio, I think that more actors & actress should think about doing the same. It’s not always the money they should be chasing, but the quality of Life, especially downtown here where the air is unbelievable. One can hardly breath, with the pollutant left by the tragedy we suffered on 9/11, Hurricane Sandy, and all those tour buses from out of town, idlying, dog fecees left by thoughtless owners, etc. At the rate we humans are going, we will be receiving back, what we are givng out to the Universe.
