The NYPD effectively used anti-riot maneuvers to eradicate a large group of OccupyWallStreet (OWS) protestors gathered on South End Avenue near Rector Place. Large police vehicles swept the crowd northward out of the neighborhood at approximately 8:00 PM on Wednesday night.

On March 17th, st. Patrick’s Day, OWS attempted to gather on North End Avenue, and were disbanded by the police. Throughout the city, various attempts by OWS to find a new base camp have been thwarted.
