Reserve Cut: A much needed kosher steak house Downtown

Opened since October of 2013, in the Setai building by the New York Stock Exchange, Reserve Cut is the only kosher steakhouse Downtown. Owned and managed by Albert Allaham, Reserve Cut has attracted a busy crowd despite being located in a still-developing FiDi section.

Tartare MaryReserve Cut Steak BMr. Allaham and his family have run Prime Cut butcher stores in Brooklyn before entering the restaurant business. The beef served at Reserve Cut is all “USDA Prime”, dry aged for 36 days. We tried the 18-ounze boneless “Delmonico” cut. Cooked over a standard flame grill then finished in the oven at 475 degrees, a nice Maillard reaction delivers the classic steak house taste.
