Showtime premiered The Who Live in Hyde Park, which was filmed in London’s Hyde Park on June 16th, 2015. It was the last stop of their year-long tour celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary.

I was shocked to see this concert. They were as good as they were in 1972. Roger Daltrey’s voice was back in tune after vocal cord surgery, and Pete Townshend was playing the guitar well.

Drummer Zack Starkey, son of Ringo Starr, played great, as did Pino Palladino on bass guitar. Also, Simon Townshend was there as the third unofficial new member of the band, along with Pino and Zack.

This is a nice Blu-ray to rent, or watch it on Showtime again.
