Today was an historic day. I became the first person ever to use Apple Facetime to receive assistance from an Apple store team (we think).
I recently made contact with the people who run the apple stores across the country, who put me in touch with the man who manages the New York stores. When I purchased a tripod for my iPhone that I could not figure out how to assemble, they wanted to come to my house and replace it.
I had a better idea. Instead, we used Facetime to discuss my confusion. I have been thinking about Facetime for medical purposes, and that is why this idea arose.
A team of three Apple people showed me right away what I was doing wrong. I was then able to happily fit together the pieces of the tripod and use the product.
We are pretty sure that this is the first time ever that this has been done with a real customer and real Apple staff. They are probably not happy that I am promoting this, because they would rather not have their store staff do this type of support.
Screw it. The cat is out of the bag. Demand to speak with Apple geniuses at the local stores via Facetime.
