Arrival, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner and directed by Denis Villeneuve, is now available on Netflix. It is nominated for eight Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
This is quite a good film. It is a smart and totally original depiction of aliens visiting earth. Amy Adams’ character is a linguistics professor who decodes the alien’s language.
The film avoids the usual clichés. The acting and casting were good, and the editing is effective.
