Wary Price’s lame Aquatic Carousel will never be completed

To no one’s surprise, the stalled construction project inside the Battery Park Conservancy, the aquatic-themed carousel, is delayed yet again. DNAinfo reports that it will now open in 2015.

Yeah. Right.

This lame project is the brainchild of President of the Battery Park Conservancy, Warrie Price. It began 10 years ago, in 2004 and has limped along ever since.

We have previously argued that the conservancy needs a new leader and is a vastly underachieving piece of prime real estate. Warrie Price got this job by kissing up and playing the local-politics game, not because she is competent to run any form of agency.

With the departure of the equally incompetent leader of Asphalt Green, Carol Tweedy, it is time for Warrie Price to take a hint and retire.More important than this silly carousel is the mismanaged construction all throughout Battery Park. People should be able to ride a bike through the park. They can’t now.

The Hudson River Park would also benefit from a competent leader with executive skills, rather than local politics skills. Stay tuned on that one.
