May 9, 2024- Lake Greer is so low that the ducks came onto dry ground and drank out of my water pool.

April 29, 2024- by Steven E. Greer

We are about six-weeks into a drought with no rainfall (due to cloud-seeding I wonder). The Lake Greer ecosystem has been decimated.

Today was a rare spotting of a new species. These ducks have fluorescent-orange beaks and make a distinctive whistling sound.

I placed the bird feeder out on the back of the yard at ground level. The mocking bird and grackle like it.

The Sandhill Crane are acting strangely. I doubt that they successfully hatched chocks this year. They also seem to be finding food elsewhere and are not appreciative of the peanuts.

There are three Cormorants.

The Great Heron was on a house the other week. A soft-shell turtle appeared.
