January 3, above, the father of the Sandhill Crane family from 2025.

January

January 3- Female Ringed-neck Duck. Below, Whistling-ducks and the Glossy Ibis who lives among ducks. Also, a fake bird in the form of a Gulfstream G550.

January 6, 2026- Below, the Great Blue Heron intruded upon the Sandhill Cranes’ turf causing them to squawk.

January 17, 2026- Below, a new species arrived. They are two female Green-winged-teal ducks. The males are colorful. That photo is the male is pulled from the Internet.

January 17, 2026- Below, a Cormorant.

January 17, 2026- The five ducklings should be flying soon. January 25, 2026- Below, The Ringed-neck duck has a partner now.  

January 26, 2026- Below, the painted turtle

January 29, 2026- Below, ringed-neck ducks now number four, along with the whistling ducks and mottled ducks

February

February 2, 2026- They fly. About a week earlier, I got them to flay a little bit too.

February 17- The Ringed-necks

February 21, 2026- The Tricolored gave me some good shots.

March

March 23, 2026- Some Limpkin showed up for the first time a long time.

March 23, 2026- The fish are back, so all of the fish-eating birds are too.

March 27, 2026- Blue-winged Teal ducks appear as a new species. 

April

We got 18-inches of rain in one week in the beginning of the month. The lake rose about 35-inches and the wading birds left. The fish have been gone too, at least from the shoreline. So, the lake has been mostly devoid of birds this month, other than ducks.

April 2, 2026- The Anhinga clumsily in a tree.

April a5, 2026- Bald Eagle

April 23, 2026- A man-made bird blimp

April 24, 2026- The Loggerhead Shrikes are non-stop shriking because they have young birds to feed.
