January 21, 2014- The WSJ has a more in-depth profile of Mr. Burger, “Martin Burger has worked with some very big names during his commercial real-estate career. His employers have included Related Cos., Blackstone Group LP, and Goldman Sachs. At one point, when he was on his own, he worked on a Las Vegas investment with actors George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon….Until now the company has focused mostly on New York, but Mr. Burger wants to transform it into a global real estate powerhouse. “I love development,” he said in an interview in his office at 7 World Trade Center whose shelves are packed with memorabilia from a lifetime of deal-making.”
January 18, 2014– Crain’s reports that Silverstein Properties, which owns the lease for most of the “Ground Zero” WTC site, has chosen a successor to the 82-year-old Larry Silverstein. Martin Burger was promoted to the CEO title of Silverstein Properties.
