June 29, 2015- I was walking on the esplanade behind Gateway, south of North Cove Marina, when a NY Waterway ferry boat sped by at high speed and was only 50-feet from land. They are not supposed to do this because it is unsafe and creates a wake.
Every year, the captains seem to forget the rules and start coming too close to shore. In the past, Commodore Mike Fortenbaugh would call their company and fix the problem. Now, with the marina under new management, the ferry boats are going unchecked.
