July 20, 2015- When the people who owned Ponte’s restaurant on the West Side Highway sold after the Big Flood of 2012, they made room for a massive new condo building. Thank heaven, because what Tribeca sorely needs is more residential buildings (sarcasm).
A blog has gotten a hold of the renderings for the latest building to go up on the West Side Highway, smack dab in the flood zone.
Who will buy multi-million-dollar apartments in a flood zone? Is everyone in denial fewer than three years after Hurricane Sandy?
Also, who wants to live feet away from the honking cars of the highway?
