Oyster-boat-Pier-25July 20, 2015- Yet another human was rescued from the Hudson River near our shores. This time, a woman was taken from the waters by Pier-25 and sent to Bellevue Hospital, according to a local blog. “The woman, who was alert and talking, was taken to Bellevue Hospital for observation. Niall O’Shausnessy, a FDNY Rescue Medic, dived into the water to rescue the woman. He was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital and later released, according to a Fire Department spokeswoman.”

By our count, there have now been six bodies pulled from our waters this year. The short fall seems to be the destination spot for people distraught, making cries for help, but who do not really want to commit to the bigger bridges and certain death.
