September 16, 2016- The Post reports, “A man convicted at trial of bashing a gay couple over the head with a chair at a Chelsea rib joint last year was sentenced Thursday to nine years in prison.

Bayna-Lehkeim El-Amin, 42, who is also gay, griped that the victims were the aggressors and that his race played a part in the case.

“They walked up to me, pulled out a weapon and struck me,” he said, referring to the purse a drunken Jonathan Snipes used to slap him after he thought he heard a gay slur.

“This incident was started by . . . two drunk, white men that felt they were entitled to come and swing at me for no reason,” he said.”
