In 2021, when my dad was unable to take care of his property, I saw by photograph, as I lived in Florida, some of the belongings in his commercial property in Ohio. One item was a 1979 Camaro Z28 that had been in the family since 1980. It was a barn-find type of car.

It had sentimental value. I bought it from my mother for $6000 thinking I could fix it up (The Z28 Project). However, modern mechanics are incompetent. They literally do not know how to work on a carburetor. I ended up getting robbed for $17,000 by a car shop in Ohio. I had to sue them to get my money back. I then put the car in storage for all of last year.

It is now springtime and people are in the car buying mood. I found the perfect buyer. He is a man in Florida who had a car just like it when he was a teenager. He met his wife while driving his car. He and is going to restore it. My car has been passed on to good hands.

The transaction yesterday went as well as possible. I made a 35% ROI . The buyer should be able to make almost 100% profit if he does a good restoration. Everybody won.

I took a bunch of pictures yesterday at Toy Barn for the insurance company to register the 1979 Camaro Z28 as an antique.

March 12, 2022- Toy Barn putting on new breaks and tires.

Update March 9, 2023-

I had a very bad experience with Toy Barn. They overcharged me ten-fold. I transferred the car to to Performance Auto Spa in Plain City. They did a great job getting the oxidized paint looking good. They also fixed a torn seat and stained dash.

However, I am afraid it will need a new paint job. I think that my brother started to repaint it decades ago and buffed the original paint too thin.

It is now being stored 37-miles away in Springfield while I live in Florida. The storage owner is a car enthusiast and we might work on finishing the project.

I had a S class Mercedes. Beautiful car, very quiet, very comfortable but far too expensive to maintain and service. Bought a Lexus. Not nearly as pretty but absolutely trouble-free.
Long ago I had a 1968 Z28 Camaro. Crazy fast car, fun to drive. Muncie 4 speed. Should never have sold it but it got about 8 miles to the gallon.

Beautiful! I know the thrill of bringing a cast off vehicle back to life. 1973 Nova from ugly to stunning! Way fun to drive! I would post pics but can’t. Painted Orange Fury….
