September 1, 2015- Mayor De Blasio’s deputy mayor in charge of the homeless problem has been fired, according to Crain’s, “Her appointment in 2014 was hailed by advocates who have called for a greater Latino presence in city government. Now, one of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s deputy mayors is leaving her post after 20 months. The mayor’s office announced late Monday that Lilliam Barrios-Paoli, the city’s deputy mayor for health and human services, will depart his administration at the end of September. Her departure comes as a rise in the city’s homeless population has come under increased scrutiny.”
Crain’s correctly points out that the growing homeless problem was her downfall, but more significant is that this woman runs the biggest hospitals in the city and country, such as Bellevue. If you have ever been to one of these hospitals, you have seen pervasive incompetence.
Mayor De Blasio seems to be cleaning house. Last week, he fired Cynthia López.
