Update December 5, 2013- The electric is now connected and the ballfield lights are functioning.
Update November 23, 2013- The electrical boxes are in place.
August 24, 2013- The repair of the electrical box that controls the outdoor lights to the ballfields (damaged by Hurricane Sandy) had been making no progress, with the latest BPCA update indicating that repairs would take place after the 2013 hurricane season. BatteryPark.TV reported on the overall decline in the parks, with the ballfield lights being one stalled project, and now expedited work is underway to build the elevated flood resistant electrical box.
The concrete platform will be completed within two weeks. The electrical work should follow rapidly, allowing lighting for the Fall soccer and football seasons.
