In the annual report and request for budget (Page 23), the Community Board 1 is requesting from the city that the Clinton Castle within Battery Park be converted into a performing arts center. The larger performing arts center planned for the World Trade Center, that would cost on the order of a billion dollars, is going nowhere fast. Shakespeare in the Park is current held at the castle.
