It seems that the class action lawsuit against LeFrak real estate, brought by Gateway Plaza tenant Maureen Koetz and her lawyers at Sanford Heisler LLP, is so legitimate, that the lawyers are now battling over who should be the lead counsel and get the scraps from the $100 Million being demanded. Another Gateway tenant, Barbara Stoebel, has joined the class action, and has filed a motion in the New York Supreme Court to have her law firms (plural) take over and to “disqualify” Ms. Koetz’s law firm of Stanford Heisler LLP.
Ms. Stoebel wants the law firms of Newman Ferrara LLP and Morgan & Morgan P.C. to take over. Click here for Ms. Stoebels motion
